We have a new leader. His name is Dale Franz. Here is how he describes himself:

Dick, it was nice of you to sit down and share your experience leading the Georgia Betta Breeders club, and I hope that you and the membership agree to allow me to now lead the club.

As discussed, I would like to provide some “about me” information so that the folks understand my background, interests and intent.

I have been married for 20 years, and have 3 children – boy (elementary school), girl (high school) and boy (college). We have lived in GA for 3 years, and reside in S Forsyth County.

I work for Cox Communications Corporate Headquarters, and build and support contact center technologies.

My other hobbies include Schutzhund, mountain bicycling and driving my Jeep in places I probably shouldn’t.

I have experience leading various non-profit organizations, and currently do so for the Coal Mountain Schutzhund Association.

I setup my first tank in college – and ranged from having 1 to 15 active tanks over the last 30 years (and 8 moves!). I have mostly specialized in Neolamprologus Tanganyikan cichlids – although I have kept and bred a large variety of species over the years.

My interest in bettas is admittedly relatively recent, although in my research it seems there is an awful lot to learn – therefore I plan to specialize in bettas for a good while!

I am also an active member with Atlanta Aquarium Association (“forum name “bloodworm”).

My intent is to re-acquaint existing members, and recruit new members to our club. Beyond that – I would like to get additional input from members to see where we go from here.

Thank you again!

Dale
